Our rug Beni Ouarain are woven by the women of the Beni Ouarain tribe living in the Atlas Mountains in Morocco. This tribe is renowned for producing some of the best wool in the world, and their rug have a remarkably soft and plush texture. Each of our carefully selected rug Beni Ouarain has been woven knot by knot according to ancestral techniques passed down from mother to daughter through generations.

The Beni Ouarain tribe traditionally uses raw wool, which is why it is more common to see these rug in white/cream colors with natural black or brown patterns created by the wool of the black sheep in the flock. Today, the weavers enjoy greater artistic freedom by using colors based on natural pigments, which is why we are delighted to have beautiful colorful and thick rug Beni Ouarain.

The rug Beni Ouarain are historically made from undyed wool, so it must be of the highest quality. This is why the weavers also focus on the upstream process of weaving, which involves working with the wool.
